C/R:Businessman SHOT DEAD at Kasoa in daylight robbery

A man believed to be in his 40s have been shot dead by some unknown gun men in Opeikuma in Kasoa in the Central Region.

Information that reached your breaking news hub, Gnews.Com is that the businessman had gone to the bank to withdraw some amount of money.

The man after withdrawing the money was approached by the armed men while he was waiting to board a trotro to his location. The gunmen who were numbering four in number were riding on a motorbike.

According to an eye witness, the robbers after exchanging some words with the businessman shot the man at close range.

They made away with the envelope containing the amount of money he withdrew from the bank.

Police Officer heartlessly Shot in the Chest and Head.

A Police officer identified as Sgt Moses Tetteh Nartey has been gunned down by Highway robbers in Kade in the Eastern Region of Ghana.

Another officer also sustained gunshot injuries and is also on admission at the St Dominic Government Hospital in Akwatia.

According to a Police Sitrep, the two were part of a team of Police Officers who boarded a Taxi to confront some armed robbers who had blocked the Pramkese – Takyiman motor road and were robbers unsuspecting passengers of their valuables.

The reports continued that the Police upon the tipoff, boarded a Taxi and headed straight to the location of the incident with the intention of confronting the robbers.

The team on reaching a section of the road at Ada Kwasi Junction, spotted a mini Bus ahead of them at about hundred meters away, they then noticed that the mini bus has stopped compelling them to also slow down.

Suddenly two unidentified men holding AK 47 riffle emerged from the bush onto the road and flashed a touch light onto the occupants of the taxi and identified them to be Policemen and started firing at them indiscriminately.

Sgt Moses Tetteh Nartey sustained two gun shot wound at his chest and one on his head while G/Cpl Christian Totimeh also sustained a gunshot wound on his left rib forcing the team to retreat and rush the injured officers to Pramkese Health Centre for treatment.

Sgt Moses Nartey Tetteh was pronounced dead on arrival while Cpl. Christian Totimeh was referred to St Dominics Hospital, Akwatia and was admitted for treatment while the body of Sgt Moses Tetteh Nartey has since been deposited at Kade Government Hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy.

The District Commander and the station officer visited the injured officer at Akwatia and found his condition to be stable.

Meanwhile, a reinforcement team from the Divisional Police Command, Asamankese also came to augment the strength of the local Police.
