COVID-19: Close schools now – GMA to gov’t

The Ghana Medical Association (GMA) says schools in the country must be shut down in order to control the rising spread of Coronavirus in the country.

The call comes in the wake of increasing fatalities among COVID patients in the country.

The death rate of the virus has reached 457 following the confirmation of eight more fatalities.

Additionally, the country has recorded 722 new infections, raising its active cases to 6,352 from a previous 6,095 since the last update on Saturday, February 6, 2021.

The new infections are from tests conducted as of February 03, 2021.

Speaking to Francis Abban on the Morning Starr Monday, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the GMA Dr. Paa Kwasi Baidoo said the rate of infections will get out of hands if immediate measures are not adopted.

“With the evidence available now, I will not hesitate to say that let’s close or suspend schools. We can test the children, send those who test negative home and keep those who test positive, and manage them. Ghana will not be the only country where they’ve opened schools and closed them because of #COVID19. So there should be a national discussion on what threshold we hit before we close down schools”.

He also noted drinking spots and bars in the country have become superspreaders of the virus.

“One difficulty we have is the drinking spots, bars, and puns. These are superspreader activities but they tell you it’s an open space. But we’ve recorded cases where people went out drinking with friends”.

SADNEWS:Tipper truck kills beautiful girl in kitchen.

Tipper truck has crushed a 22-year-old Senior High School leaver, Anita Asieduwaa Ama Nkrumah, to death. The beautiful lady was in a kitchen cooking at Senchi-Amanfrom in the Asuogyaman District of the Eastern Region over the weekend.

According to reports, the tipper truck with registration number GN-6025-16 was on a dusty road close to a sand winning base which is about 150 meters from the home of the victim, when the incident happened.
The driver of the truck, as gathered, after filling the truck with sand, was negotiating a sharp bend on his way from the sight when the car lost its balance and fell on the kitchen, a detached, wooden makeshift structure located close to the road in which the victim was said to be preparing food, flattening it in the process.

The deceased, whose body was retrieved by the Police, has since been deposited at the morgue for autopsy.

Assistant Superintendent of Police Daniel Yeboah, Akosombo District Police Commander, who visited the scene when he had the information, said the police would hunt for the unidentified driver of the truck to help in the conduct of investigations into the accident.
The mother of the deceased, Patience Osabutey, who was in tears, said she was in the farm when she was called and informed about the incident.

According to her, her daughter was home in the morning when she set off to work, only to hear the gory news.

“I wasn’t at home [when the accident happened]. My daughter was home when I left. I received several calls while in the farm that there had been an accident at our house so I rushed back home. I was told she had suffered injuries to the hands and legs but a lot of people were wailing when I got home,” she narrated.

The deceased completed the Manya Krobo Senior High School at Odumase – Krobo in 2017 and was preparing to enter the Winneba Community Nursing Training College later in the year before the tragedy.

The accident attracted a large group of mourners to the house of the family.
The truck involved in the accident was later towed from the scene to the Senchi Police Station.

EMERGENCY VEHICLES: What to Do When an Emergency Vehicle Approaches

Emergency personnel risk their lives every day to help us in our time of need. Sometimes they face risk just getting there. When you’re driving and you see emergency vehicles with their lights and sirens on, time is of the essence – move over quickly and carefully. When an emergency vehicle is approaching:

  1. Pull over to the edge of the roadway, clear of intersections, and stop.
  2. Remain there until the emergency vehicle has passed. Watch for others. There may be several other emergency vehicles.
  3. Keep a foot on the brake so the brake lights let emergency vehicle drivers know you have stopped.
  4. Stay at least 500 feet behind any moving emergency vehicle displaying flashing warning lights and sounding a siren.
  5. Never race after an emergency vehicle to get through a traffic light.
  6. Never pass a moving emergency vehicle displaying flashing lights unless directed to do so by a police officer or emergency personnel.

By following this few simple rules, you can help emergency workers get to the scene faster and safer.

AMA BRONI’S FAMILY ‘FRUSTRATING’ US – ORIGINAL SHANA’S MANAGER

The Ghanaian media space has been filled with mixed reactions following the sudden death of Ama Broni – the lady who died immediately
after twerking naked on stage at a street carnival at Liberia camp, Kasoa on January 16, 2021.

Original Shana and his team have on several occasions expressed solidarity and sympathy to the deceased and the bereaved family respectively. Shana recently released a heartwrenching tribute song for Ama Broni. He and his team also promised to donate an amount of $1,000 to the family.

As it was reported earlier, the artiste and his management team donated an envelope containing an undisclosed amount of money to Ama Broni’s family. However, it was widely reported that $1,000 has been donated to the family.

The bereaved family in a recent interview expressed disappointment in the artiste for giving them $500 instead of the reported $1,000. According to Ama Broni’s mother, Esi Mansa, people think she is making money out of her daughter’s death and that is not the case. She also vowed to return the money, and then place a curse on the artiste for lying to the public.

But speaking with M-Bak De’General on Splash Entertainment, Omene Aso, Original Shana’s manager condemned the barrages of threats and insults being meted out to them by the family.

According to the manager, Ama Broni’s family received $500 but the journalist who witnessed the presentation advised them not to disclose the amount, but settle the difference privately with the family, of which both parties agreed.

“We gave the family $500 and promised to pay the difference later. We intend to collaborate with them to give Ama Broni a befitting burial – since she is a die-hard fan of Original Shana, but the family is frustrating us”, Omene Aso told M-Bak.

Budding artiste, Original Shana, during a performance at the aforementioned event, offered $100 to anyone who could take off their underpants and dance to his popular song “Yi Wo Dross” on stage.

Ama Broni who accepted the challenge by going completely nude, got electrocuted after dismounting the stage, and was pronounced dead at a health facility.

As monitored by MBak Media, Omene Aso also revealed to Splash Entertainment host that “Yi Wo Dross” hit maker has since the demise of Ama Broni, been bombarded with threats, curses and criticisms, and this has affected both his professional and personal images.

The artiste manager also responded in the affirmative when M-Bak asked if Original Shana is regaining strength after all the public backlash.

NDC behind the slow growth of Cape Coast,Do you agree

“The reason behind the slow growth of Cape Coast is NDC. They destroyed our once great town from 1982 onwards. Before they came, that Post Office, Courts, Ministries we’re functional. And there were jobs in Cape Coast…Ceredec, Mfantsiman, CMP, PWD, AESCHYLUS, SCC, Water Works, SHC, CMB, MMB, etc etc. Our Municipal Council was functioning, removing bins daily…then the revolution began to close down these institutions one after the other without paying benefits to anyone.

I was in UCC and keenly observed the antics of the revolutionaries, whose people in Cape Coast were not so bright but worked as agents to undermine the few successful people from our Town, who used to help us a lot: they destroyed the great life of Mr Doughan, the Deputy Regional Minister; Mr Joe Hayfron, Chairman of Dwarfs; they chased our former MP, Lawyer Brodie-Mends out of town; they chased William Amarteifio a quiet contributor out of the country; they shocking chased our main man, Col F G Bernasko out of town for years, together with J WS Degraft Johnson, former Vice President of Ghana…And many others, much to the applause of Cape Coasters. June 4 Movement wrote letters upon letters to PNDC to confiscate the properties of Ameen Sangari.

I saw the File with Leo Yankson of June 4th and reported it to Mr Walker who got them arrested. The letters were horrible. In all these, I saw so many Cape Coasters jubilation at the abuse of these people. NDC chased out Mr GEB Awuku out of the country and destroyed most of his businesses in Accra. NDCFUO took away Mr Kwesi Brew’s Golden Spoon Flour Factory. They attacked the Diamond Business of a great rich Cape Coast lady, Mrs Mary Rawlings (Mrs Adu Boahen).

They retired our leading men in the Top Hierarchy of Ghana’s Civil Service such as Robert Hinson and Ackah Yensu of State Insurance and I B Ashun, Principal Secretary of Ministry of Finance. All these people made quiet but significant contributions to our Town’s development.

Our rich men like Coleman Paitoo, Addison, W G Tandoh of Wescodye, Yankah of TOPP Farms, I K Quansah etc were all snuffed out. These days we don’t have such type of very rich people again except the ndcfuo. These people were always helping the Town. They supported our Afahye.

But we lost both our industries and great people; but Cape Coasters were only interested in the downfall of these successful people. I never stopped observing the ndc people terrorising and destroying our people and businesses. The point is, most Cape Coasters are not very successful but instead of being happy for our few successful people they rejoice when they see them demonised!

NDC destroyed, neglected and abandoned most institutions in Cape Coast including our time honoured sewage and sanitation system, employment avenues, hospitals and schools, Social Welfare, Parks & Gardens, Courts, Post Office etc.

Then they imposed their man on us as our Paramount Chief. He then went all out with his unnecessary political agenda…and opened a huge conflict between him and present President.

………………..
………………..

Let me tell you what we can do to help, below here.

We must send a Powerful Delegation of Cape Coasters to meet with the President at the Jubilee House and discuss these two things:

  1. To patch up the long running hostile conflict between President Nana Akuffo Addo and Omanhene Kwesi Atta. We must do it properly and help to reconcile their differences that developed in the disgraceful 2010 Afahye debacle. To me, our Chief must tone down on his NDC Politics considerably. Chiefs don’t normally show their true political colours so openly as he does.
  2. We must also have a plan to discuss our development from job creation, tourism, demolishing of Post Office (which should have been done when the ndc sold Ghana Telecom to Vodafone), rehabilitation of Cape Coast Elementary and Secondary Schools with their own Libraries, Fish Farming in the Fosu Lagoon, construction of Fishing Quay at ‘Abrofo Mpoano, Development of Sports, Rehabilitation of Cape Coast Central Hospital and attraction of Investors to establish viable businesses in our town that is located in the centre of Accra, Kumasi and Takoradi…etc etc.
We’ll add more items to the Agenda when the time approaches. So many Towns including ndc voting northerners have sent such delegation to the compassionate President and he has helped them with their requests. We are the only ones who haven’t gone to Jubilee House because we have NDC Leaders like the 2 MPs and the Oguaa Omanhene.

The Delegation to the President and Cabinet must include the following:

  • Mr Andrew Fiifi Simpson
  • Prof Philip Bondzi-Simpson
  • Mr Bernasko
  • Mr Victor Savage
  • Mr Ekow Sam
  • Mr Ato Amponsa-Dadzie
  • Mr Nana Butler
  • Mrs Christine Afrifa
  • Ms Christine Churcher
  • Rev Carl Sackeyfio
  • Legna and Cole Younger

The President knows most of these highly successful intelligent people from our Town and will listen to their pleas to let bygones be bygones. We can later have a good ceremony to pacify the gods to bring us peace and closure. Then our Delegation will let the NPP Government and President know our Development agenda. The Delegation can invite President Kufuor to the meeting and am sure he will join them because he spent most of his Weekends with Uncle Kojo Alata in Cape Coast.

We must ignore hateful people in town and focus on goodness and as we do so, goodies will return.

I can contribute by writing a short Piece of Essay about the contribution of Cape Coasters to the NPP!

I hope no one responds to my contribution here, please. We are not in a Debate but suggestion mode. Talk your own some and move on!”

Kobina Ansa M/A Basic School is in the Mfantseman Municipality of the Central Region and located at Kobina Ansa community along the Yamoransa-Abura Dunkwa Highway.

Walking barefoot may increase the size of your pen!s

Did you know that simply taking your time to walk barefooted can significantly increase the size of your penis?

Yes, walking on the natural ground with your bare feet for thirty minutes a day would give you one inch per year ballpark.

Canadian researchers who spent two years in the Democratic Republic of Congo trying to bust the myth of natural penis enlargement went back home with newfound length and girth.

Back in 2014, they thought maybe it has something to do with the nature of the soil in Congo.

To their surprise, Canadian men who tried the method in Canada were blessed with new inches too. The real science behind this is still a mystery.

The traditional healer in DRC who had been prescribing this to men for years said it is the gods’ gift to men so that each man will be able to satisfy their wives.

According to the healer as soon as a man hit puberty every step, he takes barefoot counts. He also warned men not to be greed because they would reach a point where the blood in their body is no longer enough to sustain a full erection.

John Powell who is one of the first Canadians who used the method back in DRC says he will never walk barefoot for the rest of his life.

“What I have right now is appreciated by my wife and I don’t think to be greedy will end well. I am quite grateful and I believe I have had my share from mother nature”.

147 years ago,the entire kumasi was burnt down by the british

The Third Anglo-Ashanti War occurred from 1873 to 1874. British General Garnet Wolseley led 2,500 British troops and several thousand Indian and African troops against the Ashanti Empire.

For the first time the British decided to defeat and destroy the Ashanti Empire.

Helped by better trained soldiers, the introduction of quinine (which helped protect against disease), and the new maxim gun (machine gun) which gave the British forces a significant technological advantage over the Ashanti Army, the British defeated the Ashanti in the Battle of Amoaful on January 31, 1873.

The Ashanti capital of Kumasi was briefly occupied by the British and then burned.

The war ended in July 1874 when the Ashanti signed the Treaty of Fomena.

19-year-old girl kill her day-old baby.

A 19-year-old girl has cruelly slashed the throat of her day-old baby and dumped the body in a cocoa farm at Atenrom, a village near Akyem Etwereso in the Eastern Region.

The suspect, whose name was given as Patience, alias Mummie, self-delivered a baby boy last Friday dawn. But claimed some parts of it looked like an animal.

The suspect, according to a witness, Nana Owusu, took the baby into a nearby bush and slashed the baby’s throat with a kitchen knife.

Mr Owusu said Patience, who already has a five-year-old child, is believed to be suffering from depression.

According to him, the teenager left the village to stay in Accra where she got pregnant. She recently returned to her village in the Akyemansa District.

The teenager, the witness said, refused to disclose the whereabouts of the baby. After several demands by her uncle and elders of the village.

Her refusal compelled the youth of the community to mount a search and after several hours the lifeless body of the baby wrapped in a sack was found in a cocoa farm.

The suspect has since been arrested by the Akyem Ofoase District Police to assist in the investigations.

Meanwhile, the body of the baby has been deposited at the Oda Government Hospital morgue.

How a chief selects his official name (Stool name)

A lot of miseducation / misinformation is going on in our communities over how an incoming chief selects his official name (Stool Name) .

The sad aspect of the miseducation is the fact that an incoming chief selects his Official Name (Stool Name) by going to the Stool Room blaindfolded to touch any of the Blackend Stools in the Stool Room , so that the name of the past chief (ancestor) associated with it becomes his Official Name .

THIS IS NOT AND CAN NOT BE TRUE ; for as a rule , a royal is prohibited to enter a Stool Room (Nkonwa dan mu) until he becomes a chief .

It is also important to note that if selecting an Official Name by blindfolding and touching a stool were true , then it will be reasonable to say that the name of the first chief shall run through to the new chief . That is to say that Opoku Ware l would have touched Osei Tutu l’s stool to become Osei Tutu ll on and on and on .

THE ABSOLUTE TRUTH IS THAT ; after seclection , nomination and vetting of the incoming chief , he is given an Official Name in consultation with the Queen Mother , Abusuapanin and Abusuabaapani of the Royal Household in cmera .

Before sitting in camera , they would have consulted but very few of the elderly members of the household .

The First Choice Name is often the name of a departed chief with all the ingredients of bravery , had work , diplomacy and tact .

The names of two great chiefs may be combined ie. Atakora & Amaniampon , hence Atakora Amaniampon . The incoming chief may choose to use his own name or combine part of his own names with other names or even quin any name .
