New variant of COVID-19 recorded in Ghana – Nana Addo reveals

Ghana has recorded the new strain of the Coronavirus, the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has revealed.

The variant was recorded among passengers who tested positive after arriving at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) recently.

While delivering his 22nd update on enhanced response measures taken by his government to battle the pandemic, Nana Akufo-Addo disclosed that “recent genomic sequencing undertaken by our scientists have established that some arriving passengers tested positive for [the] new variants of COVID-19.”

These affected passengers have all been isolated.

“Furthermore, work is ongoing to determine the presence and extent of spread of the new variants in the general population,” the President added.

As a means of managing the situation, the government is intensifying its strategy of enhanced tracing, testing and treating, to allow identify infected persons for isolation and treatment.

Some contact tracers are also being mobilized to follow up on contacts of all who test positive.

Both public and private laboratories are to supply, in real-time, data on all persons tested on the common platform established by the Ghana Health Service.

There will be sanctions against laboratories that fail to comply.

Reactivation of treatment, isolation facilities

Detailed investigations of the cases indicate that, apart from arriving passengers at our airport who tested positive, infected persons have recent histories of attending parties, weddings, end of year office programmes, family get-togethers, and funerals.

Nana Addo said additional logistics, including vehicles to the Ghana Health Service, have been provided for the supervision and monitoring of asymptomatic cases being managed from home.

“Government is reactivating available treatment and isolation facilities across the country in anticipation of any further increase in infections. The provision of adequate medicines, equipment, and personal protective equipment to enable health workers to attend to home-based patients is being effected”, Nana Addo said.

Meanwhile, the Ghana Health Service is recording an average of  200 new cases of COVID-19 infections daily with the number of patients requiring hospitalization and intensive care is rising.

13 out of the 16 regions have recorded active cases with a nationwide case count pegged at 1,924 currently.

The number of confirmed deaths has increased, 338 persons to 352

FULL TEXT: Akufo-Addo’s 22nd address on coronavirus pandemic

Fellow Ghanaians, good evening.

Before I start, let me use this opportunity to thank you all and Almighty God for enabling me to swear, for the second time, the oath of office as President of the Republic. The ceremony took place after I last spoke to you. I promise I will do my very best to live up to your expectations.

I am coming into your homes tonight with some rather unpleasant news. When I delivered Update No. 21, some two weeks ago, I urged all of us to continue adhering to the enhanced hygiene and mask-wearing protocols that have served us well, and which led us to the situation where we were witnessing a gradual decline in the number of active cases.

However, since that time, we have seen an upsurge in the number of active cases, from a little over nine hundred (900) to one thousand, nine hundred and twenty-four (1,924). Our COVID-19 treatment centres have gone from having zero patients to now being full because of the upsurge in infections.

Particularly worrying is the fact that the Ghana Health Service is recording, on the average, two hundred (200) new cases of COVID infections daily. The number of patients requiring hospitalisation and intensive care is rising. The number of severe cases, which stood at eighteen (18) a week ago, has increased sharply to one hundred and twenty (120). Two weeks ago, there was no critical case, we now have thirty-three (33) in our treatment facilities. Again, according to statistics from the Ghana Health Service, the considerable number of persons who are severely ill are, surprisingly, relatively youthful persons, with no previous underlying health conditions. The number of confirmed deaths has increased, sadly, from three hundred and thirty-eight (338) persons to three hundred and fifty-two (352) within the period.

Recent genomic sequencing undertaken by our scientists have established that some arriving passengers tested positive for new variants of COVID-19. These passengers have all been isolated. Furthermore, work is ongoing to determine the presence and extent of spread of the new variants in the general population.

Detailed investigations of the cases indicate that, apart from arriving passengers at our airport who tested positive, infected persons have recent histories of attending parties, weddings, end of year office programmes, family get-togethers, and funerals. At these gatherings, most of them abandoned the use of the masks, and were engaged in actions that led to them contracting the virus.

Fellow Ghanaians, at this current rate, whereby thirteen (13) out of the sixteen (16) regions have recorded active cases, our healthcare infrastructure will be overwhelmed. If this situation continues, it will severely undermine the efforts Government is making to revitalize the economy, and put our nation back onto the path of progress and prosperity, following the ravages of the pandemic.

On 7th January, as I said, I swore to “dedicate myself to the service and well-being of the people of the Republic of Ghana, and to do right to all manner of persons.” It is my duty to protect lives and livelihoods.

In furtherance of this, I have instructed the Inspector General of Police to direct officers, men and women of the Police Service to ensure the rigorous enforcement of the law on mask wearing at all public places and in public transport. They are also to ensure the closure of all night clubs, pubs, cinemas and beaches that may be operating in defiance of the law. They will be assisted by the other security agencies, if need be.

Persons in market places, work places, and operators of public transport must conduct their activities in accordance with the hygiene and safety protocols. The wearing of masks in these places is mandatory. Regulatory agencies will undertake random checks to ensure conformity with COVID-19 rules. Should any facility or institution fail to comply with these directives, its activities will be immediately prohibited, and appropriate sanctions applied.

It is important that I remind all Ghanaians that severe punishments exist on our statute books for persons breaking the law on the mandatory wearing of masks. Should anyone be arrested by the security agencies disregarding this directive, that person will be dealt with strictly in accordance with law.

We do not want to go back to the days of partial lockdowns, which had a negative impact on our economy and on our way of life. But should that become necessary, i.e., should the number of active cases continue to increase at the current rate, I will have no option but to re-impose these restrictions because it is better to be safe than to be sorry. So, together, let us all ensure that we respect the protocols.

Government is intensifying its strategy of enhanced 3Ts, i.e. tracing, testing and treating, to allow us identify infected persons, isolate them, and treat them. A considerable number of contact tracers are being mobilised to follow up on contacts of all who test positive. All laboratories, public and private, must supply, in real time, data on all persons tested on the common platform established by the Ghana Health Service. There will be sanctions against laboratories who fail to comply. We have also provided additional logistics, including vehicles, to the Ghana Health Service for the supervision and monitoring of asymptomatic cases being managed from home.

Additionally, Government is reactivating available treatment and isolation facilities across the country in anticipation of any further increase in infections. The provision of adequate medicines, equipment, and personal protective equipment to enable health workers attend to homebased patients is being effected.

Fellow Ghanaians, as our children in kindergarten, primary, junior high school, SHS 2 and SHS 3 resume school from tomorrow, I wish to reiterate that Government has taken the required steps to ensure their safety in school. Heads of institutions, as well as their teachers, have undergone the requisite orientation on “Guidelines for school re-opening during COVID-19”, to enable them assist with compliance of students to the protocols.

I have been encouraged by the preparations being made by many schools, in some cases, with the support of their old student associations and PTAs, in anticipation of the return on Monday. On our part, Government has also undertaken the fumigation and disinfection of schools, and the provision of sanitisers, masks, liquid soaps, Veronica Buckets, rolls of tissue paper, face shields for learners and staff with hearing impairments, and gloves for care givers and attendants, to schools across the country. All Senior High Schools have been mapped to medical facilities across the country, so that any outbreak of the disease in any such school can be duly contained. Suspected cases in primary and junior high schools will be managed by district health teams through the School Health Programme and the COVID-19 Rapid Response Teams.

The world is facing a learning crisis – a crisis that is further worsening inequalities in access to education, with children from poorer homes and communities being worst hit. This learning crisis has serious implications for the future of our country. This is especially worrying for me because I have placed education at the centre of the social and economic progress and prosperity of Ghana, and of her political stability.

That is why, in our attempt to mitigate the impact of the pandemic, the CAPBuss initiative, being administered by the National Board for Small Scale Industries, has started disbursements to applicants from private educational institutions, many of whom have been hard-hit by the pandemic. More disbursements to these institutions are being processed.

I now wish to speak directly to the students and children returning to school, and those of you who have already returned. I know that, for most of you, 2020 was a very unfamiliar year, and presented a setback for your preparation for the future. You all saw the struggle your parents, especially working parents, went through with you at home due to school closures. You also know how you struggled to learn from home, even for those of you lucky enough to continue with some of your classes online. The frustrations, the idleness, the absence of classroom or study group intimacy – it has all been extremely difficult for you, your parents, teachers and everybody involved. This is something we should all try to put behind us. Much of that depends on you.

As we take these big steps to go back to school, your attitude, your behaviour, your self-discipline will decide whether or not our schools will remain open.

I am pleading with you, please observe the COVID-19 protocols at all times. You must maintain the level of discipline and sense of responsibility to stop the virus from spreading in your schools and, for day students, at home, as well. Wear your masks at all times. Wash and sanitize your hands regularly. Protect yourself. Protect each other. Protect your teachers. Protect your parents. But, please, do not give me a reason to close down schools again. I pledge to do my best to keep your education going. I want you to assure me, your parents, your teachers and society as a whole, through your actions, that you will do your part as well.

Fellow Ghanaians, I urge all of us to continue to live responsibly with the virus, even as we work towards accessing the vaccine. Details of the access and roll-out plan will be announced very soon. Let us work constantly at how to do our work, keep our businesses and places of worship open, and send our children to school, all in safety.

Government, for its part, is resolved and determined to help ensure that we are able to return to our normal daily routines, i.e. going to work, going to school, going to shop, going to the market, going to a funeral, going to the pub, going to the club, going to the cinema, going to the beach, going to the stadium, or going to worship. We can achieve this result if we co-operate and work together. It is essential that we protect ourselves, our families and our loved ones from the virus. It is a collective responsibility.

If we embrace the safety protocols, i.e. the enhanced hygiene and mask-wearing protocols, and we continue to put our faith in Almighty God, we will see light at the end of this tunnel. Zero active cases – that is the goal. We can and must reach it.

Fellow Ghanaians, in all sincerity, I repeat that this too shall pass! For the Battle is the Lords!!

May God bless us all, and our homeland Ghana, and make her great and strong.

I thank you for your attention, and good night.

The missing wrist watch

A young man saw his primary school teacher at a wedding ceremony. He went to greet him with all respect and admiration!!

He said to him:
“Can you still recognize me Sir?’

‘I don’t think so!!’, said the Teacher, ‘could you please remind me how we met?’

The student recounted:
“I was your Student in the 3rd Grade, I stole a Wrist watch belonging to my then classmate because it was unique and fascinating.

My Classmate came to you crying that his Wrist Watch had been stolen and you ordered all Students in the class to stand on a straight line, facing the wall with our hands up and our eyes closed so you could check our pockets.

At this point, I became jittery and terrified of the outcome of the search. The shame I will face after other Students discovered that I stole the Watch, the opinions my Teachers will form about me, the thought of being named a ‘ thief’ till I leave the School and my Parents’ reaction when they get to know about my action.

All these thoughts flowing across my heart, when suddenly it was my turn to be checked. I felt your hand slipped into my pocket and you brought out the Watch. I was gripped with fear, expecting the worse to be announced. I was surprised I didn’t hear anything, but Sir, you continued searching other Students’ pockets till you got to the last person.

When the search was over, you asked us to open our eyes and sit on our Chairs. I was afraid to sit because I was thinking you will call me out soon after everyone was seated.

But to my amazement, you showed the watch to the class, gave it to the owner and you never mentioned the name of the one who stole the watch. You didn’t say a word to me, and you never mentioned the story to anyone.

Throughout my stay in the school, no Teacher or Student knew what happened. This incident naturally taught me a great lesson and I resolved in my heart never to get myself involved in taking whatever is not mine.
I thought to myself, you saved my dignity.”

“Do you remember the story now Sir? You can’t simply forget this story Sir!!”

The teacher replied, ‘ I vividly remember the story that I found the Watch in a pocket but i did not know in whose pocket the stolen Watch was found that day because I searched your pockets while I also had my eyes closed.”

In life, we need wisdom for everything we do. As Parents, Teachers, Leaders etc… We should be able to close our eyes to some things. Not all misbehaviour require punishment. Some will need encouragement, some mentoring and some monitoring. Be a Leader who impacts, not one who shatters.

JESUS SNATCHED MY GIRLFRIEND

My girlfriend visited me for a weekend and I took her along to a church programme where I was invited.

The two guest speakers for the first and second days were wonderful. We laughed and shouted “Fire” and even sowed seeds of greatness. And I took my girlfriend back to my house.

However, the guest speaker that came on the last day was the one that turned the whole programme sour for me. He did not wear any big shoes or expensive suit. His haircut was even scattered. Unlike other guests before him, he did not have any escort or security. But I noticed that the moment he climbed the pulpit, the atmosphere changed.

He started singing: “Something more than gold… Something more than silver…The Word of God in the heart of a believer, is something more than gold.” And within five minutes, I began to see something like a mist, like a thick cloud inside that auditorium. It was not long before I began to hear cries of men and women, boys and girls. The church hall was tense. You would wonder if this was the same church we had been coming to for the past two days … “Lord, help me”… “Forgive me Jesus…” “Don’t leave me this way.”

The glory inside that house was too much.

When I managed to open my eyes, I didn’t see anybody standing. I was the only one on my feet. The host pastor was on the floor, in front of the church, with his wife. The assistant pastors were with him in front of the church, crying. The preacher was lying flat, crying on the altar… And for more than 1:45 minutes, people were rolling on the floor, crying their hearts out.

I was still standing, looking around for my girlfriend. When I found her, she was crying and blasting in tongues. I can’t forget what she t told me: “Felix, when that young pastor was singing that song, my eyes were opened and I saw Jesus for the first time in my life. I saw the kind of splendour I cannot explain. I saw His wounds… I saw Him on the Cross… I saw Him calling me to surrender my life to Him…Felix, something has happened to me… And I am no more that same person.

“Felix, did you not feel what I felt? Did you not see what I saw? What I saw is worth more than the whole world. I saw a Crown that I cannot lose… Felix, I have to surrender to Jesus…I know I love you and you love me too…. But I have to let you go. At this moment, I have surrendered to Jesus. It will be better to lose you than to lose that Crown that I saw.”

Tears had dried on our bodies and fresh ones were coming. I could not even stop her, as she left. The girl I knew before had changed. It dawned on me that that young man of God had made me lose the girlfriend I loved so much.

As I rolled from one part of the bed to another, alone, inside my room, from morning till night, I began to blame myself for taking her along to that programme. Don’t blame me; I was not born again then. Where else was I going to see another girl who would love me like she? I was furious, but deep down in my heart, I knew that she had met with God. I knew that this was exactly how it used to be in the 1980s and 1990s before Satan came to church.

My friends told me to give my girlfriend some time that she would run back to me when memories of our sinful past would begin to haunt her. I waited for months and years, up till now, she never did.

And thank God, in the fullness of time, when it pleased Him to intercept me from a speedy journey to hell, I understood what happened to my ex-girlfriend. Several times, I have seen that same thing she saw that made her abandon me without looking back. Brethren, if you see what she saw, you would never be afraid to lose any man, or woman, or honour. Lord, anybody, anything can go; I don’t want to lose the glory you showed me!

Why do we complain that nobody will host us in his big auditorium and give us big honorarium?

We did not see honorarium before we left all and embarked on this journey. We saw a Crown that we must not lose on the last day. Many are already wearing their own crowns here (crowns made of straw)… They have forgotten the encounters God used to give them when they first met Jesus. We don’t need those who want to show everyone that they are succeeding in ministry, even when they are not known in Heaven. Our lives are better with fewer people whose eyes are still on that Crown.

In the last crusade where you ministered, you came back with car keys, laptops, iPhones and landed documents sown as seeds into your ministry. But there were no tears of repentance. Sinners came as sinners, sowed their seeds as sinners and left as sinners. When again are we going to see you preach and men will start falling over another, even without altar call, asking God for repentance for their sins? Your choristers are already singing with snared hearts. When are we going to hear somebody say about you, that: “This is that man of God that I heard and I left my sins and did not go back to them again?”

Brethren, I don’t know what they tell you in your church every Sunday. I know you want to shun your evil ways, but the church you submitted to seems not to have a problem with your sinful lifestyle. From year to year, they don’t preach against sin; only giving you 100 ways to make wealth, even when you are sinking miserably in sin and addictions. Brethren, stop playing church while you are feasting on your vomit. It’s time to cry for an encounter. How long will you keep falling and rising and falling again? It’s time to cry for just one touch of Fire…I am sure heaven will not shun your wet eyes and cracked lips.

I adapted this convert’s experience on the walk to heaven whose original author God will continue to bless. This is the message we need in these dire times. Sadly, showmen have seized the pulpits with so much fanfare and razzmatazz. Even witch doctors are now adorned in designer suits, simulating our language but are not of us.

Beware, brethren, beware of suborned miracles and quackery. Stop chasing after that spurious miracle, saint of God. Don’t you know that once you give your life to Christ, miracles are birthright? (Matthew 6:38). Why then do you sell yourself cheap at the expense of your soul?

Jesus stole my girlfriend but I’m blessed that I lost her to Him rather man. I’m blessed that I did not hinder her. I’m blessed that I too have lost myself to Jesus, the only hope and truth. Whose road are you blocking from following Jesus? Maybe you are even blocking yourself because of the varnished dainties of life.

Ironically, the gifts of men are silly. One day, you are monarch, with all the trappings of power and glory at your beck and call. The next day, you are at the mercy of your subject, who would ignominiously shove you off the throne and quarantine you where they please, and that’s not because you have coronavirus. Any wonder the most glorious, most wise of kings, Solomon, described all as vanity?

Brethren, in God’s business of salvation, if you are headed in the wrong direction, U-turn is allowed.

It does not matter who or what you are: President, Governor, senator, business czar, academic, Igwe, Emir, Oba, cleric or plain nobody – humanity has common destiny six feet in the red earth. The difference is on which side we wake in the hereafter, in heaven or hell. Think about it; the choice is yours.

MAY YOU HAVE AN ENCOUNTER WITH JESUS

Soldier in court for allegedly having sex with minor

A 30-year-old soldier has appeared before an Accra Circuit Court, for allegedly having sex multiple times with a 14-year-old girl at Burma Camp, Accra.

Cpl Offei Richard Okyere, charged with defilement, has pleaded not guilty.

The Court presided over by Adelaide Abui Kadey, remanded Cpl Okyere into Military custody to reappear on January 27.

The facts as presented by Detective Sergeant Opoku Aniagyei are that; the complainant is a 53-year-old labourer of the Ghana Military Police residing at Burma Camp, Accra.

The prosecution said the victim is a 14-year-old Junior High School Student, residing with the father who is the complainant in the case.

Detective Sergeant Aniagyei said Okyere was also residing at Burma Camp and that the complainant and Okyere worked in the same Regiment and were very good friends.

The prosecution said between July and September last year, Okyere took advantage of the friendship between him and the complainant and paid visits to the complainant’s house.

He said whiles the complainant was away, Okyere lured the victim into their room and had sexual intercourse with the victim in a sofa chair.

The prosecution said on another occasion, Okyere had sex with the victim on the complainant’s bed.

He said not satisfied with the sexual advances, Okyere took the victim to a nearby bush about 200 meters away from the victim’s house and had sex with her.

The prosecution said on December 15, last year, the victim’s elder sister questioned whether she was a virgin and the victim denied being one.

This, the prosecution said made the complainant suspicious and he asked the victim who broke her virginity and she mentioned Okyere as the one who had been having sexual intercourse with her.

He said on December 16, last year, the complainant reported the matter to one Military Police and they arrested Okyere who was detained in a guardroom.

The prosecution said the Military Police issued a medical form to the complainant to seek treatment for the victim at any government hospital.

The prosecution said a medical report was submitted on the victim after medical examination on January 2, this year.

He said later, the complainant, the victim and Okyere were brought to the Domestic Violence and Victim’s Support Unit of the Ghana Police Service in Accra by the Military Police.

I voted for Mike Oquaye- Adwoa Safo sets records straight

“My attention has been drawn to rumours and wild speculations on mainline and social media suggesting that I, Sarah Adwoa Safo, voted against Prof Mike Oquaye, the NPP’s nominee for the position of Speaker during the last sitting of the 7th Parliament on the dawn of 7th January, 2021.

It is being alleged that I voted against Prof Oquaye because he [Prof Oquaye] allowed his son to contest me in the recent past Dome Kwabenya parliamentary primaries of the NPP in the run up to the 2020 general elections. How absurd!

I wish to state emphatically that, there is no iota of truth in these vile rumours and speculations, and I call on all and sundry to completely disregard same. For the avoidance of doubt, I wish to state without any shred of doubt that, I, Sarah Adwoa Safo, voted for Prof Mike Oquaye.

I had absolutely no motivation to vote otherwise. In the over 20 years of my active political life, I have always stood for and publicly supported decisions of my party, the NPP. My unquenchable loyalty and commitment to the NPP over decades can certainly not be shaken by an ordinary internal contest within the party. At every stage of my parliamentary political life, I have been contested, and at no point have I begrudged my fellow contestants.

Whilst it is indeed true that since 2007, I have been contesting in the Dome Kwabenya parliamentary primaries of the party, it is undeniable, that, regardless of the outcome of each contest, I never hesitated in deploying my time and resources at the disposal of the party to ensure that Dome Kwabenya remains our traditional stronghold election after election.

Also, as a firm believer of our democratic tenets, which is one of the founding principles of the NPP, I have never, and can never hold any grudge with any person(s) that contest me in our party’s primaries. It therefore comes to me, as not only egregious, but also highly unconscionable for anyone to suggest that I would betray my party merely because I was contested in the recent parliamentary primaries of the party.

Beyond that, it must also be recalled that I contributed to the debate on the floor of parliament at that special sitting, making a solid case for the party’s nominee, Prof Mike Oquaye to be re-elected as the Speaker of the august house.

Instructively, I was the only female Member of Parliament who spoke for the party’s nominee on that faithful day. Having made a case for the re-election of Prof Mike Oquaye as Speaker, what at all would be my motivation to vote against him? This, certainly, beggars belief.

Also, as the immediate past Deputy Majority Leader and a 3-term Member of Parliament, I am not oblivious of the devastating consequences of not having the Speaker on the side of the governing party. I therefore could not have contemplated putting my party and government in such an uncomfortable and dire situation by voting against the party’s nominee for the position of Speaker.

Notwithstanding the viciousness of these malicious allegations against my person, I remain resolute and focused on my work as a Member of the august house to the service of my constituents, my party and of course, the government of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in delivering prosperity to the Ghanaian people.

…Signed…

SARAH ADWOA SAFO(HON.)

WOMEN LOVE PUBLIC DISPLAY OF AFFECTION:

Gentlemen, a woman loves being loved not just in private, but in public too. She looks out for those public gestures that confirm to her “Indeed, this man loves me”, public gestures such as:-

  1. HOLDING HER ARM OR HAND WHILE WALKING
This demonstrates you are not ashamed to be seen cozy with her
  2. INTRODUCING HER BY HER TITLE
Don’t introduce her to friends, family or the public by just her name, but as ‘This is my woman/wife’. This makes her secure as her position in your life is made public
  3. TELLING HER I LOVE YOU IN PUBLIC
When she tells you she loves you in public, don’t nod or just smile or say ‘Me too’.. say ‘I love you’ back. And don’t always wait for her to tell you, you declare it to her publicly first sometimes. Often a woman will tell her man ‘I love you’ when they are in public or when he’s speaking to her on phone and he is with people to test if he will say ‘I love you’ just like he says in private
  4. KISSING HER IN PUBLIC
Giving her a public kiss on the cheek, lips or forehead to say ‘Hello’, ‘Goodbye’ or for any reason says ‘I love my woman and I am not bothered if the world sees or knows it’
  5. HOLDING HER WAIST WHILE STANDING
This shows closeness between you two, you know she allows only you to hold her there
  6. PULLING UP A CHAIR AND OPENING THE DOOR FOR HER
This is for when you are out on dates, it shows you are making effort to treat her as special and the world better take notice
  7. PUTTING A RING ON IT
If you like it put a ring on it; correction, if you love her put a ring on her finger. An engagement ring from you is a way of telling the world ‘That’s my wife in waiting, keep off, handle with caution’
  8. STATING THAT YOU ARE TAKEN
It is important that you clearly state it publicly that you are a taken man, act like a man who is not available. Don’t flirt around, don’t give an impression that you are free to mingle. Even on Facebook, state that you are in a relationship, engaged or married to so and so
  9. LIKING AND COMMENTING ON HER FACEBOOK POSTS
Each time she posts a photo of herself on social media or she posts something, it will mean alot if you notice, more so, if you like, and especially if you drop a comment in the view of the community of Facebook friends
  10. PUTTING A PROFILE PICTURE OF HER
Put a profile picture of her or of you two together once in a while on Facebook or Whatsapp and you will see how she will feel special because the world gets to see you elevating her to honor
  11. MARKING YOUR TERRITORY
If another man comes to charm your woman, roar, make your presence felt, give him a look that says ‘Not this one’
  12. PUBLICLY PROTECTING HER
If your family or friends or your ex tries to unsettle her, that is not for her to fight; you come to her defense and make sure she gets to see you publicly by her side
  13. LETTING HER WALK THE A SIDE THAT IS AWAY FROM TRAFFIC
When you two are walking, you be the one to walk closer to the passing cars. Yes, she is a grown woman, but show a gesture that you are her protector
  14. SHOWING UP ON HER SPECIAL OCCASIONS
On her birthday, her promotion party, house warming, graduation or any ocassion she invites others; show up to support her and be by her side
  15. MARRYING HER
This is the greatest public display of love, you entering a covenant with her before God and the world professing your love and commitment
  16. WEARING HER RING
The wedding ring she placed on your finger when you got married, never take it off. It is a daily public display saying you are a proud husband to a wife you love

Love is not just what you do with her in private, it’s what you do to her and for her when others are watching!

10 REASONS PEOPLE CLOCK 40+ AND STILL REMAIN SINGLE

It’s good to marry early, the Bible is full of scriptures referring to “the wife of thy youth”, “the children of thy youth”.

Marrying early (EARLY here simply meaning marrying in thy Youth age) in Life is advantageous over Marrying Late,
Even at that, it may not be our fault that we end up marrying later than we envisaged, sometimes it’s beyond our control, but not in all cases,
sometimes we are the ones who by our own actions prolong our single hood.

So I’ve complied Ten reasons why this is so.

1) YOU DECIDED NOT TO GET MARRIED.

I decided to start with this one because there are People who have decided not to get Married for personal decisions, and you don’t force Marriage on everyone.
So if you’ve taken this decision, you’d definitely be single at 40 and beyond that as well.
Have Fun

2) VILLAGE PEOPLE
Except you don’t believe in the supernatural, my brethren, things are happening.

It’s the reason I feel for People who are not Prayerful,
some persons feel that there’s no need to pray when it comes to Marriage, after all Jeffrey that was a chronic womanizer back then in school got married early and has 3 kids already, forgetting that we all come from different families and face different backgrounds and battles.

(3) BEING TOO CHOOSY
Some ladies are too choosy and that’s their problem, all the Men God has sent their way, they have had issues with each one,
What do they now want?

He must be Tall, Dark and Handsome, romantic, have six packs, drive a Mercedes Benz, be able to spend N500k in one sitting,
Naira loaded and tongue speaking godly yahoo boy.
Where will you see that combination in one Man?

When as a bachelor, you say the lady must have the combined body of Mercy Johnson, Ini Edo and Genevieve, must be smart like chimamanda, must be….

No wonder you are still single at 42.

Any one that God shows them, they don’t want

Jane? she talks too much,
What of Ruth? she’s too quiet
What of Oziegbe? she’s too local
What of Esther, she’s too black,
And you are now 39, we hail you Sir,
Grand Bachelor of the Order of the Niger (GBON)

Keep searching for the Perfect Spouse.

(4) YOUR CULTURE
The younger one can not marry before the elder one and elder one is kuku having problems getting a partner

The Man must be ready to buy 500 tuber of yams, 3 sewing machines, 30 bags of rice, one suzuki motorcycle,…………………….. List goes on

It was that list that drove Segun, Paul, John away, you are now 30 and now that same list is still being presented to Abraham,

You must only marry from our village,
You must…….
You must not……..

Parents and Traditions have actually had a way of keeping many eligible Spinsters at home ageing away.

(5) PLAYING GAMES

Some ladies, when they are 20,23,25, they will be doing “I’m still very young”, they will be jumping from Man to Man,
pursuing sugar Daddies that will never marry them, because the suitors are queueing up they feel it will be so forever,

Before they know it, they have nack 30,
Men start looking past them, the throng of suitors reduce, and by that time they will now become emergency Prayer Warriors, running from Winners to Redeemed looking for miracle Husband, attending crusades with amazing themes
“I must marry this year” “who took my husband?”

Same things for the guys,
Play boys,
Busy chasing small small girls, by the time you know it you have given yourself a bad Rep, no Relationship you enter lasts, you start finding it hard to keep a stable Relationship long enough to lead to Marriage.

(6) KARMA
What you sow you will reap, you can’t escape it.
Some ladies have broken homes and Marriages, while
Some guys have broken hearts, used girls and have countless abortions to their name,

Curses are flying over and around them from heart broken girls and boys from their past.

(7) BAD CHARACTER.
Some ladies are proud,
who are you to ask for their number as a Brother?
Who are you to greet them?

Some are snobbish, they will look down on you if you don’t have a car, forgetting that tomorrow is pregnant
Others have bad mouth, before you say one they’ve said fifty, if they decide to wash you down, you will understand that it was Eve that ate fruit and remain for Adam and not vice versa

The Guys who would have proposed have all run away out of fear and for their one safety.
Any Relationship they manage to enter doesn’t last more than one year before the guy runs for his life.

Some brothers nko,
pride too is doing them, no lady is good enough for them,
any girl they date they will chase her away with their lack of security and African Man attitude.

Dear Single, Work on your Character.

(8) YOU KEEP DATING DEFECTIVE PEOPLE

Defective People are People who date for fun, they are not after Marriage, they come for sex and to while away time, nothing else

Defective People are time wasters, they can date you for Ten years and then one day wake up and break up with you because you pressed toothpaste from the middle.

By the time you date one guy or girl like that for three years, the Relationship breaks down,
you enter anther relationship, another two years goes down the drain,
Then you enter another one, let’s say one year,, please, how old are you self?
Are you immortal?
You are olding, but you don’t know.

Better relax and prayerfully look for ONE serious minded person to date who will end your singleness,
it’s not by quantity but by quality.

(9) TOO MUCH “SHAKARA”

Some ladies,
fine son of God will be giving them signal they will be doing Shakara, very soon fine son of God will move on to a sister that is ready and cooperative, they will say “ordinary hard to get that i just did oh, he couldn’t even wait, he’s not serious” not knowing they are the one that is not serious.

Sisters, calm down,
“what shall it profit thee to do all the shakara in the whole World and lose thy suitors?”

(10) UNREALISTIC GOALS

Bachelors are usually most guilty of this,
“before I marry ehn, I must hustle, build house, buy car, become a millionaire then get married”

They will now have one sister who genuinely loves them, she will be begging him to come and pay her Bride Price, that she will manage with him, that things will get better, he will say No, he must buy car and build house first, when sister can no longer wait again, she will leave him.

before you know it, they are 40 and still hustling, no car, no house, no spouse.

While Some ladies place career as their priority, (well that’s their personal choice) they thus ignore Relationship/Marriage business, by the time they finally arrive at their goals, they are now 42, Rich and Single and now desperately willing to Mingle.

You can get married first and then make your millions as a married Man
You can get married and chase your career as a Married Woman.

Pursue your personal goals, but don’t miss God’s time for you in the process out of stubborn will and personal set goals..

Dear Bachelor and Spinster,
Yes, Be careful so in an attempt to marry early you do not marry Wrongly ,
However, be not deceived,
“You can marry Early and Marry Well.”

PS: Do not let this post put you under any kind of pressure,
That is in no way the purpose of this post, but to show you mistakes to avoid as a single, that’s all.
Beyond getting married, the above Lifestyles even have other negative consequences just as well.
God bless you
