A/R: IBM&J SRC donates to Ashan Children’s Home

The Students’ Representative Council (SRC) of the Institute of Business Management & Journalism (IBM&J) in Kumasi has on Thursday donated items worth GH¢ 1,150 to the Ashan Children’s Home at Denase as part of its annual week celebration.

The items included bags of rice, nose masks, detergents, toilet rolls, soap, cooking oil, clothes among others.

The SRC President of the institution Mr. Bayaga Amidu Fatawu who presented the items on behalf of his colleagues said the support was done to put a smile on the faces of the children.

He added that it was also done in relation with the Quranic and Biblical principles which encouraged Muslims and Christians to show love and support to the poor and needy in society.

“We have come to show love and support to our brothers and sisters in order to put a smile on their faces, anytime there’s the need we will also in our own way come to help your outfit, as it is also encouraged by our religions,” he noted.

The President appreciated John Alexander Addai the former SRC President, former executives and the student body of the Institute for their kind contributions towards the donation.

The CEO and Founder of the Ashan Children’s Home Nana Boafo Konadu Yiadom thanked the Student leaders after receiving the gesture.

He urged other institutions to emulate in showing compassion to the children.

Mr. Konadu Yiadom pointed out that despite the numerous successes chalked by the home over the last 22 years, there are some challenges including inadequate funds, how to mobilize the homeless children among others.

He, therefore, appealed to government, Philanthropists and other benevolent organizations to help address the challenges in order to render quality care for the children.

Meanwhile, the Institute of Business Management and Journalism was founded in 1990 as a commercial tertiary institution.

It was accredited by the Ghana National Accreditation Board in 2005 to run tertiary courses.

IBM&J is a well-known institute with good academic staff carefully selected for their experience and expertise in their chosen fields, including Journalism, Communication, Public Relations and Marketing.
